Hey What's Moo?

I just love these little cows from TAC (the angel company)  The layout for this card came from papercrafts mag.  The base is SU pumpkin, the dp is DCWV summer stack, the green is SU wasabi. I stamped the cow with stazon cut it out with my oval nesties and colored it with markers. The flower punches are ek success, border punch SU.  Hello sentiment came from TPC.
That's pretty much it, short and sweet for today. Have a wonderful day, may it be filled with sunshine and happiness.  Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You Friend

Here is my final card for this month's Verve challenges over at SCS. I was unsure how I liked the finished product of this card but as I kept walking away and coming back to it it really started to grow on me and now I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
I made a few changes to the sketch they offered for this...where the flower spray is there is supposed to be a big bow with ribbon, I just didn't want to wrestle with ribbon so improvised and where the friend tag is there was supposed to be 3 embellishments so hopefully these changes were ok. I love this sketch, can't wait to use it again. I have a ton of word sets that would make great cards using this sketch.

On to the products...base is close to cocoa SU embossed with victoria folder, the dp is uknown, used perfect plum with bella toile for the one panel stamped in versamark, ink is perfect plum SU, the stamps are by Verve Because of You set....can't wait to see the new release.  Thanks for looking and I love and appreciate all the comments you leave, they really make my day.

A Simple Hello

Here comes the sun doo doo doo doo Here comes the sun and I say its alright... this card just exudes sunshine for me.  Matter of fact the whole time I was making this card the song Here Comes the Sun kept playing through my head. Well I can keep wishing and hoping anyway... especially since they're calling for more snow starting tomorrow through the weekend

So this card is super simple, no stamping, just some fabulous dp, a silk flower and the cricut.  Who knew all the phrases Wild Card had on it...I sure didn't. I think I've used that cart once.  I needed the phrase hello for this project, I could have cut it from my George or any other font cart but I wanted it together and there it was on Wild Card cart. I'll need to look further into that cartridge to see what else I've missed on it.  Anyway the whole card is DCWV..base, dp (citrus stack). The hello panel is scraps. I cut hello out at 3 in I believe and the silk flower was found on clearance at Joanns. I threw the packaging away so I don't know the brand name.  Hope you enjoy it and hope it brought a little sunshine into your day.

Black, White and Red all over

One last card for the Stamps R Us blog challenge this month. You can find the details HERE and please feel free to play along, we'd love to have you participate.  You still have a few days before it closes.

This card was made with the same dp from a christmas stack that I used earlier this month. I also got to play around with my new 2 step bird punch and modern label punch from SU.  I'm not sure how well it shows but the black layer has some Verve flowers stamped in black with rhinestones put in the center. Simple card to do.  Oh and the nesties I used on here are Labels two.  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you check out our challenge.

Anything But A Square

Wow what fun this challenge was. I made this card for the Glitterbee Blog group..Thanks Vicki for this awesome challenge.  You can find the details HERE.  We were to make a card in any shape except a square. I have been wanting to use this cut from A Childs Year cart for quite some time and here was my chance.  I think I'm going to have to make a few more of these darling little tea cups.
Here's how it was done...The cup is ACY cut at 4 1/2 x's 3. I cut the dp which is extremely thin so I cut another one for inside to give it some weight and then a 3rd time so I could cut the saucer off.  The swirls are from Home Decor and I had no idea they would cut as big as they did on the 2 inch setting.  The flower is old from my stash, I think its a prima and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. I was looking for a tea reference for my sentiment but couldn't find anything so I thought this would work too. Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a great weekend, I know I have.

Vintage Love Letter

Here is my attempt at a vintage style card. I wanted to do something with the cricut for this one and I am wishing I had the Heritage day I'll find it...anyway I settled on the heart from the Love Struck cartridge. I wish I would have had a piece of lace to add to this.

Here's my supplies... base is perfect plum SU, the dp is from once upon a time stack DCWV.  I took the french script bg stamp, stamped it in perfect plum on vanilla card stock the tore the edges till it was the size I needed. I then rubbed it with tea dye ink from Tim Holtz to age it.  I tied some embroidery thread around it. The heart was cut out at 3 in once in vanilla then in shadow for the plum. I inked the vanilla layer same as the script bg and adhered with pop dots. The silk flowers are from who knows where, have had them forever.  Oh and the border punch is MS. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a look.

Little Lamb

I went ahead and tried the CAS challenge on Splitcoast this week. I usually don't do CAS, for some reason I get a mental block on simple cards...go figure. I'm a load the card up kinda gal. LOL Anyway the challenge was to do a clean and simple card themed for spring....if I see one more flake of snow!

This little lamb image is the cutest and who can resist a dollar stamp. I'm sure you have loads of them just like I do.  I'm trying my hand at flower soft again too. If any of you from my fall swap remember my ordeal  with flower soft was not a good one but I guess you have to start somewhere. I like the way this card turned out so much I reproduced it 15 don't be surprised if you see this coming to you in the mail...oh you know who you are LOL.  Thanks for stopping by and hopefully your day is filled with sunshine....till next time

Garden Whimsy

I'm all about the spring cards now. Flowers, butterflies, bugs anything that screams spring is right up my alley.  I created this yesterday for 2 challenges...first Mojo126, super fantastic can find a link to the mojo site bottom right hand side of this page....second for the color challenge on Splitcoast.  I do not like the in colors this year. I bought a sample pack of them and the makers and I just can not get into them but I do love the color combo for this challenge. You were to use the 2 plums...pale and perfect and soft suede...I used the soft suede and while I love the finished product of this card I think I'm going to substitute close to cocoa for the suede.  I dusted off my garden whimsy set that just does not see enough love...I don't think I've used it but twice. Back to the sketch for a moment...did I mention I loved it...I will definitely be using this sketch in the future super versatile and you can use multiple images with it on one card...there's a plus.  Thanks for looking and listening to my ramblings. Off to make some more of these cards...well at least a couple more to have on I don't have a big enough need to comment on that Sarah LOL ;)

You Warm My Heart

Perfect title for today but it needs to say and my toes and arms etc....its freezing and on top of that we have about 6 more inches of snow. I think its time to build an igloo. The kids around here may make it back to school   On to the card....

This is one more card I did with the Kanban die cuts. Isn't he the cutest?  The only downfall of these die cuts is they are really big. Would be great on a scrapbook page but they can be tricky managing them on a card.

Here's what I used... card base SU bashful blue, dpis SU SAB from last year.  I embossed the base layer with d'vine swirls folder.  Billy, the pop, and bird were adhered with pop dots. The sentiment is from TAC tag tidbits.  Thanks for looking and taking the time to stop by, stay warm and safe and start praying for Spring to arrive soon....that darn groundhog and his 6 more weeks of Winter!

Cricut Super Heroes and Villans

Why oh why did I wait so long to own a cricut...good news in waiting is it was much cheaper than when it first came  Its amazing what you can do with one when you let your creativity flow.

I made these little guys for my son's valentine's day box for preschool, we decorated it to look like Gotham National Bank. In case you can't tell who they are its The Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Robin Batman and the Batmobile. All cuts came from the paper doll dress up cart. I had to improvise on the outfits because of course it doesn't have these characters in the book.
Joker is a combo of the magician and the dino boy. Penguin is a combo of the magician and the groom oh and prom girl.  Riddler is a combo of super girl and I forget who I used for the hair.  Robin is superboy cut out several times, and super girl, Batman is superboy. For the bat ears I had to free hand those. Oh and my hubby drew the bat symbol on Batman.
These were fun to do and of course to a 5yr old they are the greatest thing EVER LOL  Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day.  Happy Valentine's Day, may your day be filled with chocolate and roses.

Cupcake Anyone?

Well here is my 3rd submission for the Verve Challenges this month, you can find them at Splitcoaststampers. I had a  really hard time with this one. First the layout and then the ribbon. Ribbon is not my thing, oh I buy it and it sits here but I don't use it very often at all. To top it off I made this a 5x5 card something I rarely if ever do.

My color inspiration came from the first dining room in the challenge which had pink walls and a wood pink and brown. I love that color combo. The papers are a combo of SU and DCWV.  The stamps are by Verve called Cupcake Affair.  I'm having a Verve affair...that's what I'm doing LOL.  I used my bic mark its to color in the flowers...haven't broke down yet to buy copics. I figure I should master regular markers first.  Thanks for taking a peek today, have yourself a cupcake they really do make everything better :)

Another Die Cut named Bonnie

Last month I mentioned these fab new die cuts I found at my LSS by Kanban, a company I never heard of. Well I picked up a couple sheets and I created this card with Bonnie...she's a cutie.  I'm going to use this card for a birthday.

Here's my supplies... the card base is DCWV textured cs in pink, the striped dp is old DCWV paper.  I cut the ovals, that you can barely see cause these die cuts are so big, with the cricut using the George cart once on 4 1/2 reg and then again on shadow.  I also used the George cart to cut out the flowers with some scrap purple paper and white.  I added diamond stickles to the white flowers. I then adhered Bonnie with some pop dots.  I think I need to find a place to add a sentiment on the front. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Have a great day.

You've stolen my heart

Here's another card I did for the Stamps R Us challenge this month.  Don't forget there is still time to play.  You just need to make a card using Black, White and Red ONLY.  You can find the challenge blog HERE.  Hope you decide to play along

This post will be short and sweet....
For this card I used one of my new Verve sets Love Monkey which is adorable!  The dp is from a christmas stack believe it or not. The little heart is a punch from fiskars and I used my SU border punches.

I've been playing in the Verve challenges on SCS. They post a new one once a week, you have a sketch to follow and an inspiration piece to use. You can find the challenges HERE.

I chose the second dining room as my inspiration and used the plates on the shelves as my color combo.  I love how this card turned out. I love the sketch and the monochromatic look to this card. I used one of my new Verve sets called Because of You, great set for cards for Mom, Friend, or any special female in your life. I'll definitely be using this set a lot.

The card base is night of navy SU and the ink is the same. The paper is DCWV old old old DCWV. lol  I am loving my new modern label punch from SU. I also used the finial press folder on the white panel.

Thanks for stopping by today, we are bracing for 6-12 more inches of snow on top of what we already have. My guess is the kids won't make it to school all week, the roads are still a mess.

Addicted to this sketch

Ok if you read my previous post you'll know how I came upon this sketch. Well now I'm addicted to it.  I needed to make some more Valentines but was coming up blank till I thought about this sketch. So thats where the inspiration came for this one.

Here's what I used... card base is DCWV, dp is DCWV...its so old though I can't tell you what stack it came from.  I used white with the swiss dots cb folder. Cut the circle from George at 4 1/2 in this time since this card is a little smaller than a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I used the SU scallop edge punch. The stamp is Lily from Pink Cat Studio colored with SU markers.

Thanks for taking a peek.

And it Snowed and Snowed and Snowed

Well I was hoping the weatherman was wrong but I guess not.  We got hit with the major snowstorm that swept arcoss the mid-atlantic and east coast.  We ended up losing power for 6 hours, the house was freezing and I was never so happy to see the electric guys outside in the middle of a snow storm. My son was so excited to have the power back on I think he turned every light in the house on.

Now my poor hubby has not had fun in this terrible weather...first having to walk home from work at 6am because he couldn't get our car out of the parking lot and then having to shovel 19 inches of snow out of our long driveway just so he could walk back to work which took him a half hour so he could then drive our car home this afternoon.

I took my son out after the sun came out and the snow stopped so he could play for a little bit....This is our tree in our backyard and let me just the branches are not supposed to be almost touching the ground.  My son had a wonderful time playing outside though.

Cased Birthday

I'm casing my best friend Sarah. She sent me the cutest cards for a swap I hosted using this sketch and stamp set. Gosh I couldn't tell you the last time I broke out Lexicon of Love, I think it was actually dusty. LOL  Anyway I LOVED her card so much that I told her I was casing her and posting it on here and so here it is.

I always shyed away from this sketch because I didn't have a circle cutter big enough till she told me she used her George cart with her cricut and cut a 5 in. circle...well how clever is she. So I broke out George and away I went.  The dp paper is from the Fall DCWV stack. The base is DCWV textured cs. I embossed the more mustard layer with spots and dots through the cuttlebug.  As I mentioned earlier the circle was cut at 5 inches then in half.  I made the star from the George cart too cut at 2 inches reg cut and shadow cut. I stamped celebrate with tempting turqoise.  Thanks Sarah for inspiring me.  Hope you enjoyed this card, have a wonderful day.
