Mojo 141 America

Just a simple card in honor of Memorial Day and all our veterans that fight for our freedom.

I used today's sketch from Mojo Monday 141 This card was very simple and came together in a matter of minutes.  The embossed bg is a star folder for the cuttlebug, striped paper is dcwv old mat stack, America stamp is was a dollar stamp I picked up at Mikes a couple years ago.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Rustic Rooster Note Cards

Here is a little set of note cards I made for our neighbor. They gave us the swing set (amish made, heavy as can be, took 5 people to carry into our yard) their daughter out grew for our son to use. He is so thrilled, he thinks he has his own little park in our backyard.

Well our neighbor is really into country decorating. and they recently put in a brand new kitchen with the black country style cabinets so I thought this color combo with the rooster would be perfect for her. I made a couple in navy blue too because she decorates the house outside in Americana, so I was covering all the bases.

The paper I used I couldn't even tell you where it came from but my guess is dcwv since I'm a dcwv junkie. The rooster image is from SU rustic rooster set.

I really hope she likes them and my DH will be making some yummy pepperoni bread to send over too. Thanks for taking a peek at my creations and thanks for the comments.

Owls and Grandpas

Today's card was another one made for Father's Day but this one is for one of the Grandpas from our son. It didn't quite turn out how I envisioned it but I think its ok.

The owl images are from a set called Whimsical Birds from TPC Studios...its a set of clear stamps and I kind of had a hard time getting a clear image when stamping with it. The punch up the side is by MS and the little leaves are from SU's two step bird punch.  The Whoo was cut from the cricut's Straight from the Nest cart.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Daddy Take Me Fishing

This is the father's day card I made for my husband from our son. He is obsessed right now with Daddy taking him fishing. We haven't figured out why yet but he's been asking since winter so it looks like hubby will have to break out the old tackle box and fishing rod and take the day to go fishing.  He also has another new obsession with worms...all boy!!!

This image is another one from the TAC Wonder and Joy set. I colored him with SU and Tombow markers on watercolor paper. The dp is DCWV Linen stack...still in love with this stack.  Short and sweet for today.

Preschool Graduation

I can't believe I even typed those words for the title.  Well here it is the big day, the day my baby graduates from Preschool. That is just the funniest thing to me calling it a graduation.

Well considering the grandmas told me of the preschool grad cards they bought for him from the store I knew I had to come up with something. So here it is...clean and simple.

The cap is from the cricut cart Locker Talk. I'm so glad I picked this up while on sale, it has a ton of images to get me through his school year scrapbooks. The words are also cut from the same cart. The cap was cut out at 3 1/2 and the letters at 2 1/2.  Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by.

Daddy My Hero

This is another creation I did for the Stamps R Us Challenge Blog .  You still have time to play, challenge runs all month.

I love scrapbooking, its how I got started in paper crafting. I picked up this scrapbook kit at Joanns on clearance for $1.97. Can you believe it. Well at that price I couldn't pass it up. It has enough papers and embellishements to make at least 6 8x8 pages, if not more.

I usually don't make my scrapbook pages ahead of time but thought why not give it a try. I will use a father's day pic of my hubby and son for this page.  He is all about his daddy right now, poor mommy has been pushed to the side LOL.  I love to see them so close and bonding though it melts my heart. Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments, don't forget to try out the challenge. Have a great day

I am so happy with the way this turned out, even using my second least favorite color Soft

The layout is for the May week 2 Verve challenge going on at Splitcoaststampers. I kind of took liberties with the inspriation colors and stretched it to the max since they were really geared towards the feminine side. You can find the challenge HERE

The base is soft suede, the dp is dcwv linen stack and its matted with kraft cs.  The image is from SU's For Father set stamped in Walnut ink by Ranger on kraft cs. The sentiment is from Verve's Father Figure set also stamped in Walnut but on suede cs.

I hope Dad likes his card for Father's day, the image is very fitting for my father since we've moved into our house he's always over here with his toolbox helping my husband fix one thing or another.  Thanks for stopping by today, have you started on your Father's Day cards yet?

Woo Hoo I finally have 50 followers. Thank you all for following along.

Thank You Teacher

Well preschool is almost done. Wow how this time has flown. In a few short months my little one will be off to kindergarten, riding a bus for the first time...(cue the tears)  I can't believe the change in him from September to now and how much he has matured and how hard it was for him in the beginning to make friends or remember anyone's name and now all he does is talk about his "best friends"

So on to the card...this is of course for his preschool teacher. The apple image was a dollar stamp I picked up years ago from Michaels or Joanns...I can't remember. The dp is SU sab this time instead of dcwv, can you believe that one? lol  The border punch is MS and the tag punch is SU.  I colored the apples with tombow and SU markers.

Flower Stems

Good Morning or Evening depending on when you dropped by. Today's card was made for Verve's May Challenge Week 1 . Its a sketch and inspriation challenge. I wasn't sure if I was going to play until I saw the sketch. LOVE this sketch, its simple and very versatile. I'm sure I'll be using it again and again.  The color choices came from the second inpsiration piece that had a mix of blues and greens along with different patterns

The stamp set I used is by Autumn Leaves a gift from a dear friend. This was the first chance I had to ink this set up and love it. The sentiment is SU from the Trendy Trees set punched out using the SU oval punch.  The dp is dcwv summer mat stack.  Base is SU white, the blue is dcwv textured cs and the green mats are SU celery.  I colored the flowers with SU and Tombow markers.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget there is still time to play in the Stamps R Us Challenge this month...anything but a card, make sure to drop on by.  An exact version of this card was published in Just Cards Birthdays vol 2 with a birthday sentiment

Mom's Birthday

This is for my Mom's birthday later this month. Yellow is her favorite color so I knew that would be my jumping off point.  I love the flowers from SU's Vintage Vogue.  All the flowers were cut out and the 2 large ones stamped in mustard were popped up on dimensionals while the little ones stamped in saffron were just adhered with tape. The green is old olive. I love this color combo.  The sentiment is from Verve's birthday set birthday surprise.  Hope you have a great day and happy stamping and blogging

Flowers for Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out here in Blogger land. I have had such a wonderful morning being spoiled by my family. This beautiful bouquet is from my Mom, another dozen of roses from hubby, blueberry pancakes (my favorite) for breakfast and more to come this evening. Hope all of you are having the most wonderful day and may your day be filled with joy, laughter and love.

Mojo 137 Lighthouse

Here's my card for this weeks MOJO Sketch I just realized the one strip should have been different panels.

I wasn't sure what I was going to make this card into. I thought maybe a masculine birthday or another father's day card but decided to do a sympathy card instead.

The sentiment is from SU thoughts and prayers. The lighthouse I picked up at a little art store while visiting my brother in VA last year and its by Impression Obsession. The papers are dcwv Linen stack and the base is SU navy along with the ink used.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.

Altered Clipboard

Here is my creation for the challenge this month at Stamps R Us Challenge Blog . Please feel free to play along. You have all month to complete your challenge.

On to the details. We were supposed to make any papercraft project that wasn't a card, so I altered a clipboard.  I haven't really altered any before, have used them to hang scrapbook pages on but never covered one in paper. I'm so pleased with the way this turned out. I used my new papers from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean...GORGEOUS!!!  I combined 2 border punches one MS and the other SU. I plan on hanging this next to my crafting desk and put a note pad on it with my to do craft lists instead of taping things all over the place. Yep I seriously have lists taped up everywhere of things needing completed. LOL  At least this will be prettier to look at.
Well that's it for today, hope you hop on over to the challenge blog and play along with us. Have a great day.

Happy Mother's Day

Today's upload is all about Mother's Day.  I decided to make a set of note cards for the moms this year. Here's what I used...I broke out my old in colors and I'm happy to hear Wasabi is coming back as a regular color, I'm down to my last pack. The other color I used was groovy guava. I really like this color too.

Anyway...the image is from TAC treasure it. The sentiment is from SU three little words. I think one of my fav embossing folders is this petals a plenty.  The border punch is martha stewart along with the little butterfly.  Hope the moms will like this set. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and don't forget mother's day is just a few days away.
