Hello Friend

WOO HOO my mojo is back. I know there has been recent posts to my blog but I have to say that my mojo has been missing for a month now and thank heavens I posted ahead of time to my blog because it was like tumbleweeds blowing through but I'm happy to say I have the creative juices flowing again and here is one of the cards I made.

This image is so darn cute and comes from the TAC set wonder and joy. I stamped her on watercolor paper and colored her with a combo of SU and Tombow markers and then blended with my blender pen. I like the way she turned out.  The color inspiration came from the red paper which is a scrap from a Debbie Mumm do it yourself calendar kit I'm in the process of putting together. I stamped the navy layer with an SU bg stamp boho blooms I think its called.  Thanks for stopping by today...off to create some more.

Father's Day

So do you think its too early to start on Father's day cards? Isn't this changito adorable? I was wasting some time at my local LSS the other day waiting for the mall to open and what did my wandering eyes find but this adorable set. The image and sentiment packaged together...woo hoo.  So of course couldn't pass it up. lol
The base is made with SU Navy, the green is SU Moss...oh so sad to see this color go :( and the strip of dp is DCWV summer stack. I stamped the image on watercolor paper...that is a first for me. Can you believe I've never used watercolor paper before? I know crazy.  Anyway I colored it with markers and then went over the image with a blender pen to lighten it a bit. I think it turned out ok for my first attempt. Will definitely have to work on it.
Thanks for stopping by, I truly appreciate all your lovely comments.

Bermuda Bay Are You Growing On Me?

Ok all I've done since these in colors came out with the SU catty is say how much I dislike them, although I bought the markers...which I do like, and  a variety pack of paper. Now bermuda bay was my least fav of all of them well suede gives it a run for its money and here I am using it again and I have to admit. I really like the color combo on this card.

This is my last card for the Verve challenges this week. You can find a link to the info in my previous post.  This Beach Party challenge was a sketch challenge and I really had a hard time with it.  All the dp paper is from DCWV mariposa mat stack.  The stamps are from Verve birthday surprise set, another adorable set of theirs.  I thought using the birds and swirls folder with this image would work well together and I like the combo.  So that's it for today, thanks for your comments. Have a fantastic day.

Verve You're Always In My Thoughts

Here is my 4th Verve card of the week. This was also another sketch challenge for the Beach Party Release. You can find the info HERE

I'm hooked on this color combo...orange, green and blue. It was part of the first beach party challenge and now I LOVE it.  The gorgeous dp is DCWV citrus stack...another yummy stack of paper. I swear dcwv paper just gets better and better and its getting harder and harder to cut it up. Yes I have the paper hoarding disease of omg I love this paper, I can't cut, what if I never find another piece of paper like this again, what if I have some better project down the road I want to use it on...I'll just save it.  I can't be alone in this disease. lol I've gotten to the point I just close my eyes and cut. Well I peek a little or all my cuts would be crooked.

Ok back to the card. The stamp set is Verve's Up and Away, stamped it twice, once on dcwv dp from the summer stack. The trees are stamped in old olive. The sentiment is SU's from whimsical words. I love this sentiment with this image because I think of drifting hot air balloons and how our thoughts drift from thing to thing. Well that's my thought process anyway.   Hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for stopping by.

Surf's Up Dude

Here is my card for Verve's 3rd Beach Party Challenge this week. It was a sketch challenge. You can find the info about the challenges on splitcoast HERE

This card seemed never ending to me because I made so many changes to it before I glued it all together.  I started out with some dp from DCWV summer mat stack but it was a little too busy so I toned it down by adding the pumpkin strip to the bottom.  I had the 3 panels, like in the sketch, just plain at first but it didn't look right then I remembered this dollar set of stamps I bought from Pat Catans and thought how perfect...Beach Party themed release, what better than a surf board, sentiment and flowers along with a popsicle eating penguin.  The surf board set if from inque I believe and the penguin is Imaginisce. I colored the penguin with bic markers.  Thanks for looking and stopping by.

River Rock Oh How I Missed You

Can I say yippee for the return of River Rock with SU in July. Ok now that's out of my system.

This card is for the second challenge for Verve's Beach Party Challenge.  Info can be found on SCS under verve or under my Beach Party Penguin post.

This challenge was a sketch. I'm pleased with how this turned out. The base is pti white, the yummy dp paper is DCWV new stack Linen Closet...OMG this stack is to die for. It took everything I had to actually cut this paper up. I just wanted to hold it and admire it, maybe wallpaper my craft room with it. Ahh but I digress....

SO the image is from Verve, because of you set, stamped in river rock.  I think that's about it. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate all your comments. Hope you all have a great day

Beach Party Penguin

Aloha...

This card was made today for Verve's Beach Party Release challenge. I'm going to try to get all 5 cards done this week before friday, so keep your fingers crossed. You can find the info HERE

On to the card...doesn't it just make you long for a trip to the beach? I sure am.  The penguin image is a snag em stamp from Imaginisce. She's colored with bic markers. The palm tree is from Mindy's Zoo. I stamped it cut it out, colored it and popped it up with some dimensionals.  The sunset behind my images I did by rubbing some chalks on with a cotton ball and to give the sand a little dimension I added some platinum stickles. I love the way this card turned out.  Off to make the card for the second challenge.

Just For Fun

I made this card just for fun, like the title says and to use up some scraps.  It also fits the Stamps R Us challenge this month, still time to play, you can find the challenge HERE

I have piles of dp scraps in drawers and they have started to migrate to my creative work space so I'm trying to be "green" and use up what I have.  I've used this dp on a Verve card with Up and Away but I thought it would look so good with the Changitos.  I colored the monkies with SU markers...celery, bermuda bay, close to cocoa, caramel and tombow for the puddle. I love the little frog image that came with this changito set so I wanted to add him on here too. I left the green strip below the image so I can add a sentiment later. Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Bird-day

New Verve set in the house. Love this birthday set called birthday surprise. I wanted to keep this card simple in colors so I could use it for a masculine card. I choose bermuda bay and black. Bermuda is not my favorite color but it looks ok with black.  I cut the balloons out and popped them up with dimensionals. Tried to keep the embossing on the neutral side too, I don't think the swirls are too femine are they?  The layout is a mojo sketch but I'm drawing a blank as to which one. Thanks for stopping by...can you tell I'm trying to build up my stash of birthday cards. Have a great day.

Stamps R Us April Showers Challenge

Here is my card for this month's challenge over at
Stamps R Us Challenge Blog. You were to use any image with an umbrella, rain drops etc...for April Showers. I love billybootabella. She is definitely one of my favs and it was nice inking a bella up again since they have been neglected lately.

The card base is SU navy and the pattern paper is DCWV.  I thought this sentiment went well with the image. I never have a get well card on hand when I need one so this is perfect.  I paper pieced bella's umbrella and colored her with tombow markers.

I'm going to try to jump start my mojo again and make up another card for this challenge this month.  Thanks for the great challenge Shelly.

Happy Birthday Maggie

My baby niece's first birthday is coming up in May and this is the card I made for her. The color inspiration came from her nursery which is done in brown and pink.
I picked up the straight from the nest cart for cricut and it has a lot more images on it besides birds. That is where the onsie and hanger came from.  I had to play around with the size and made several cuts that just didn't work.  The final cut was 3 inches I think, I forgot to write it down :(
The scalloped square panels are on dimensionals along with the onsie. The sentiment is punched out with an SU punch and layered.  I hope my brother and SIL like it. I can't believe she is turning 1 already. Time flies! Thanks for looking. Have a great day

Sweet Plum Bird

This card I cased awhile ago from SCS and when I find the original again I will link it up here.  I love the plums from SU. The base is perfect plum and the panel behind the bird is pale plum. I also stamped the bird in plum and olive, the image is from an inkadinkado set.. The flower is an SU punch, the dp is dcwv.  Short and sweet for today.
