Three Little Words

This was just a quick card I threw together when I was trying to come up with a Twilight themed card.  I like my VAMPIRE card better.  This one is more on the elegant side and less whimsical but it will come in handy for me when I need an anniversary card for DH.

The base was embossed with the victoria folder and the black flourish frame behind the sentiment panel is cut from the Storybook cart.  The stamp set is Three little words from SU and was colored with a tombow marker.  Really easy card to do.

Thanks for stopping by.

Flight Of the Butterfly

Isn't this a beauty!  I saw a card made on SCS using these 2 papers together from the Mariposa DCWV stack.  THIS is the card.  And I knew I had to use this combo.  I used a layout from one of Verve's challenges in June and I will definitely be using this layout again...good for using up some dp.

When I saw the paper combo what better image to use than a butterfly. This one is from SU God's Beauty set.  I colored it with SU markers, dusty durango, bermuda bay and celery...I love that combo.  The card base is dusty durango and I matted the layers with that also and a little Olive. I think the colors work so well together.  The sentiment is also SU from the Whimsical words set.  That just about covers all the details.  I hope you like this card as much as I do, trouble is I don't know if I'll be able to part with it.  I better make a duplicate :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.  I love reading all your comments.

Petals and Stems

This card is for the Verve Ready Set Stamp Challenge where you were to use either Petals and Stems or Fluttering by.

The sketch for this card came from the new SU catty and the color inspiration came from an advertisement on HGTV.  At the end of the ad they had chocolate, turquoise and an olive color together and I thought WOW that would make a great card and well, here it is.

So here's the deets on this card...base choc. chip embossed with the elegant bouquet sizzix folder from SU.  I don't have the top note die so I used my cricut storybook cart and cut the marquee shape at 5 inches.  I cut a piece of old olive and used the SU border punch on the bottom.  The stamps are all from Verve's Petals and Stems set.  The ink used is temp. turquoise, old olive and choc chip.  I punched the sentiment with the modern label punch SU and layered it with 2 more mod. label punches of turquoise.  It doesn't show well in the pic but I added some stardust stickles to the butterfly and centers of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Clean and Graphic

This is my card for the Moxie Fab Challenge clean and graphic. Clean and Graphic usually isn't my style so this was a real challenge for me.  You can find the challenge HERE if you want to play along.

Here's the details on this card.  Everything is SU except the guitar stamp which is from Inkadinkado.  I used basic black as my base, stamped a piece of real red with baroque motifs.  When I think of graphic I think of black and white which is why I didn't add any color to the guitar.  I punched 2 photo corners but instead of layering on top of the image I added them underneath.  Thanks for stopping by, go check out the challenge its fun and a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

Fun and Cute

This card was done for a couple challenges.  The first being for Alissa's challenge on her blog that can be found HERE  It was a sketch with a beach theme.  I just recently picked up this stamp from Great Impressions and I think its the cutest.   The second challenge this is for is from Paper Crafts Moxie Fab World in honor of their new specialty issue Card Styles.  You can find the details HERE.

When I was making this card I thought about the last episode of HGTV Design Star where they designed rooms around different flowers and how certain elements in the room represented movements of a flower, or the cluster of a flower etc and I kind of took that concept (not pertaining to flowers) with the textures on this card.  I used D'vine Swirls to represent the ocean breeze because I wanted movement at the top of this card.  I used tiny bubbles for the ocean itself which isn't the usual choice but I thought of fish and bubbles and well there you go.  The scallop border represents the waves.  The close to cocoa (SU) strip is respresenting the boardwalk so what better way to show that than with planks and thats why I chose to use the distressed stripes folder.

Hope you enjoyed this card and check out the challenges.  Have a great day.  Thanks for stopping by

Shelters From The Storm

Well I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this card.  I loved the idea for it but I'm not exactly thrilled with the outcome.  Maybe it will grow on me some more.

I like the layout for this card which is one from Paper Crafts mag.  The umbrella is from the sweethearts cart cut at 3 inches I believe.  I matted it on nestie labels 2.  The sentiment is from an old SU set called Blooming with Happiness.

Short and sweet for today, hoping your staying cool and having a wonderful summer

Its A Jungle Out There

The inspiration behind this card came from Faith aka Markie's Mom on SCS. I love her gallery and how she adds polka dots to her creations. So this is a card I created last year that I thought I'd share with you.

The background was rubbed on with chalks...I really need to invest in a brayer...yes there is a tool I don't own hee hee.  I stamped the grass with SU Inspired by Nature. The animals and trees are from Mindy's Zoo, colored with watercolor pencils. Sentiment is SU wild about you set punched with SU window word punch layered on the ovals and the little bit of dp is dcwv.

Happy Birthday Dude

Well you know Verve had a sale at the end of May and who can pass up a sale, so I had to get a couple more Verve sets to add to my collection.

I'm really glad I picked up the Happy Days set which is where the sentiment, flower and flourish came from.  The dude is from the set Dude and the surf board was a dollar stamp from inqueboutique.  Now I will say this is different my usual masculine cards, especially adding the flower to the top but I don't think it takes away from the masculinity at all.

Here's the details...bash blue, turquoise, pumpkin SU, ink turquoise and stazon, markers SU, stamps verve.
