A Witchy Halloween

Well it looks like this years Halloween cards are basically going to be all about witches but who could resist this cute little witch? No one!  She is from a new set from SU called Greeting Card Kids and its just about the cutest new set in the catty.  However I had a hard time coming up with a card for her.  The layout seemed to be my issue.

Here's what was used on this card.  The papers are DCWV fall stack from a couple years ago.  I colored the image with SU  markers.  The ruffled embellishment is paper that I folded over and over again. I've been seeing this cool effect done with ribbon but didn't have any that would match and thought why not try it with strips of paper.  Definitely need to work at it a little more.  The flowers were some I had left over in my ever growing stash of things.  Thanks for looking.  Are you getting a head start on your fall cards?

A Witch for You

Some more halloween fun with this image from Stamping Bella.  Boy she hasn't seen ink in quite awhile so she was really happy to be removed from her case and inked up.

Really simple card to do.  Papers DCWV mat stack Midnight Spell.  Witchy Bella was colored with SU markers and that's about it for this one.

CAS80 Pumpkin Fun

Are you in the mood to make Halloween cards yet?  I'm so ready for fall to come with a little bit of cooler weather.

I loved the CAS challenge this week on SCS.  I usually don't participate in clean and simple but this was fun.

Details on this card...pretty simple.  Black base is 4 1/4 square.  I stamped the 2 smaller pumpkins on the white strip then stamped the jack o lantern on a seperate piece of paper cut it out and popped it up between them.  The images were colored with SU markers.  I'm so proud of myself that I actually broke out some ribbon and used it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Eloise Has A Witchy Side

This is my card for this week's Mojo sketch 152. You can find the link to this sketch in my side bar about 3/4 way down.  I still am working at getting to all the sketches I have lying around my crafting room but when I saw this Mojo sketch I felt inspired!

I love taking a stamp and finding different uses for it and who would have thought lovely Eloise from Stamping Bella had a witchy side to her.  Her flower is gone and replaced by a jack-o-lantern from an OLD set of Joann Essential stamps...one of the first set of stamps I ever bought.  The witch hat also comes from this set.  I colored Eloise with SU (pumpkin pie) and Crayola (black) markers.  Her wings are covered in black stickles but they really don't look like wings anymore.  The cute papers are from DCWV mat stack Midnight Spell, a new halloween stack out.  The scalloped circle is from the same set of papers and I had to place it there instead of on the other side because of a little mess on the edge of the Eloise image.  I guess I didn't get all the black embossing powder cleaned up from the last project...oops!

Bewitching Owl

It's getting close to my favorite time of year and by now I usually have more than one Halloween card done.  I guess I'm slacking a bit but isn't this one cute?   This was done with the Cricut using 2 different carts.  The little owl is from the Straight from your Nest cart and the hat and words are from the new Mini Monster cart...super cute cart.  I had originially cut the hat a little bigger but my husband liked the smaller version because the owls ears stick out and he said it made the hat look like it was made for him.  I was impressed he noticed that little detail LOL.

The pattern paper on here is from an old dcwv mat stack.  The orange layer was embossed with the spider web folder from cb.  I didn't write my cuts down so I'll have to figure them out and edit my post later.  Hope you enjoy this.  Have a bewitching kind of day!

A Haunting Halloween

I'm so proud of this card even though its simple because it is my first card that has been published by Paper Crafts Magazine in their Sept/Oct 2010 issue.

When I got the news I couldn't have been any more excited.  I've been waiting for months to post this card but had to wait till the magazine issue was avaliable.  Here's a Link to the Sept/Oct issue.

Here's the deets on the card...base is river rock, the pattern paper none other than DCWV from the fall stack.  The image in the center is a dollar stamp from Joanns by inkadinkado and  is heat embossed with black powder. The border punch is MS and the sentiment is A Muse.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed this card.  Have a great day.

So Very Sweet

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.  Can you believe my son just recently started liking ice cream and he's 5 but there is a stipulation...it can only be WHITE.  lol  Oh well....

I made this card just for fun.  You can't really tell from the pic but I spritzed it with some shimmer spray which I still don't have the hang of.  Well like my little one says "mommy you just have to keep practicing"

So here's the details on this card.  The base is dcwv textured cs layered with some choc chip.  The Ice Cream sundae was cut from A Child's Year cart.  It was one of the icon features so it didn't have a shadow or layering option which meant I had to cut this out several times at 3 inches and cut the pieces off that I needed.  I went over the 'chocolate sauce' with a watercolor pencil and then blended it in making sure to get some on the white so it looked like it had melted a bit.  I popped it up with some dimensionals.  The sentiment is SU from the So Very set.

That's it for today, hope you treat yourself to some ice cream, after all its summer and what could taste better on a hot day than some creamy cold goodness.

Lazy Days of Summer

I've been so behind on doing challenges that I had scraps of paper laying all over my desk with different sketches from here and there that I wanted to try.  My son had a sleep-over at his Mamaw's and I went straight to my craft room to create.  It was a great evening.

This is a sketch from Splitcoaststampers SC285.  So here's the deets on the card...  The flip flop stamp is a 99 cent stamp from Imaginisce.  The other beachy themed stamps are from Inkadinkado, its an acrylic set called Coastal.  The dp is DCWV last years summer stack and I used a little mambo ink on the flip flops.   I think I know someone who might like this card especially since it has "pink" on it... watch your mailbox :)

A Song in my Heart

I love, love, love this card. This is one of my favorite cards which means it will have to go in the special box of don't use these just admire them till you can get up the courage to part with it LOL.  ( I know its a sickness)  Here's a funny thing...I have a slight phobia of birds in real life.  I don't run from them or anything but I don't exactly want them close to me either but give me a bird stamp, bird punch, bird cricut cart and I go ga-ga over it. Go figure!!

Anyway on to the deets... I started out with choc chip as the base.  The sheet of dp was picked up on clearance a couple years ago so I can't tell you what line its from.  The green edge is dcwv textured cs that I embossed with the SU finial press folder.  I then added a scalloped edge with the SU border punch.  The bird cage was cut from Straight From the Nest cart at 3 1/2.  I then puched out the bird from the SU two step bird punch and ran it through the cb with the petals a plenty folder.  I cut a seperate wing and some leaves from scraps.  The sentiment is from Verve's swan song set and I punched it with the modern label punch SU that I layered with 2 more modern label punch outs.  I hope you enjoyed this card too.  I'm going to have to make a couple more up.  Off to fire up the cricut.  Thanks for stopping by
