Relax and Enjoy the Little Things

2 masculine cards for you today.  One a CAS style which if you're a frequent visitor you know I struggle with these and the other uses the window die from Poppy Stamps.

I really wanted something quick and easy to give all the men for either their birthday or Father's day because I've watched them open their cards and most just skim the sentiment and that's the end.  Well at least the ones I know do.  If you have a man that admires your creations and oohs and aahs over them wow count yourself one of the lucky ones.  So for this CAS card I used SU indigo blue cardstock and ink.  I used the Verve set Relax for the rest of the card and colored with SU markers
This one is my favorite and it was so easy to do.  Die cut the window of course and then I stamped the light house on a piece of white and just kept cutting it down till it fit behind the window die perfectly.  I colored it with SU markers.  To do the sky I used SU chalks on a q tip.  The blue paper was embossed with Tim Holtz's woodgrain embossing folder.  The sentiment is verve and the blue birds are from an Inkadinkado set called Coastal

What's black, white and read all over?

As soon as I saw the You're My Type set from SU I knew the card I wanted to make with it. This is a great set for masculine cards.
This set saved a stamp in my stash that I almost sold.  I've had the stampendous background stamp since I first started stamping years ago but never really used it.  Its been sitting in my to sell box for over a year but it works perfectly with the typewriter so it stays.  One more set of masculine cards to share with you next week.  See you then.

You Rocket

I thought I'd share a couple kids birthday cards I made.  The 2 cards I'm always lacking is kids and masculine birthday cards.  So these both are quick and simple to do.

For this card I used SU craft embossed with spots and dots embossing folder.  The stamp is from Stampendous Changito line.  The little stars are punched with a ek success punch.  I colored the image with tombow markers and the dp is from Inque Boutique.
The dp on here is DCWV Citrus stack that I paired with SU tangerine tango and marina mist that I embossed with the SU square lattice folder.  The stamp set is also SU colored with SU markers.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone.  I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday.  Now I have to admit that I have been a bit of a slacker this Easter season.  I usually make at least 4 or 5 different Easter cards but as you can see from my blog I haven't made any this year.... AHHHH!!  So I'm going to share past Easter cards I made.

Bunny School.  This one is a favorite of my son.
This one is one of my favorites and was published in Just Cards!
Super quick and easy Easter Greetings
Another one of my favorites. TAC Stamps and SU embossing folder
This one seemed to be a popular post on this blog.  I love the way it turned out especially when I thought it was going in another direction.  Hope you enjoyed a flashback from Easter's past.  Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Smash It!

OK I have officially jumped on the Smash bandwagon.  The thing is before all these cool things were brought on the market by K&Co to make Smash books I was doing it in my 20's not calling it by the fancy name. LOL  If I only knew then it would be such a hot thing to do 20 some years later.  Well anyway on to my book.  I bought the pink Girly book from K&Co and decided to make it all about ME.  So here's a few pages.

These are the wonderful men I get to hang out with daily.  My husband and son.  I bought a cheap deck of cards and used them on here.  I also used one of the smash book mini book pages you fill in and tear out.  The rest are stickers from my stash
Ah JJ Abrams.  I was so lucky last year to get to see JJ Abrams and his crew in our little town filming the movie Super 8.  I went to the set several days especially the few days they shot a block from my house and snapped some pictures.  The one close up of JJ was when I actually got to meet him.  I cut myself out of that pic because I looked terrible.  I was not prepared to meet a famous celebrity that day.  The far away shot of Kyle Chandler was as close as I could get to him.  I used some stickers and cut out from the local paper to embellish this page.
This page is all about my love of paper crafts.  I cut out pics from the Paper Crafts magazine.  Took a pic of some of the mags I've been published in and took a pic of my paper stash and stamps.  I used a snippet of string, paper and ribbon to also embellish my page.  I'm having a lot of fun making this book and preserving these memories.  Right now I'm still collecting for my other pages but as I get them finish I'll share more.  Hope you enjoyed this post and if you haven't started Smashing yet go ahead and give it a try.  You'll be addicted.
