Vintage Corset

I decided to do a little shopping at Joann's a few weeks ago and I just couldn't resist this corset stamp.  I had no idea what kind of card I would make with it I just loved it.  Now I'm a terrible judge of how big something is, so when looking at the stamp in the store I thought oh I can do this and that to the card and still have room.  HA  Until I stamped it and then tried to figure out what to do with it I had no idea it would take up that much room.  I don't know if I was partially blind the day I picked it up or what. LOL  Well anyway I have 2 cards for you today.

First sorry for the crooked photo.  For both cards I used Colorbok's Victorian Parlor paper.  The flourishes have a velvet texture and are a sticker I found at Joann's also by Colorbok.  I colored the image with some SU markers.  I forgot to mention the stamp is by Stampendous.

Card 2 uses the same flourishes and paper except I also used the tulip embossing folder from SU to frame the card and added the prima flower I had from my stash.  Which one is your favorite?  Also what sentiment would you put with this kind of image?  I asked all my stamping friends even posted it on Splitcoast. I got "Thanks for your support" "of corset's your birthday".  Can you think of any others?

I'm So Blessed to Call You Mom

Here's a card I did for my mom for Mother's day.  I made this back in April but it never made it to my blog and its been hanging on my Create board since then so I would make sure to post it.  Now because I made it so long ago I forgot the products I used on it so I had to go through my stuff to see if I could figure it out and when you have to "go through" your stuff to remember the product then that means you have too much product LOL.  So here's the card

The card base is crumb cake from SU then layered with baja breeze and SU everyday enchantment designer paper.  I then cut another strip of baja and cut the bottom at an angle to make it look like ribbon.  The scallop is cut from tangerine tango and the label that is stamped on was cut from cricut cart lacy labels.  The stamps are all from Verve Because of You set.  I stamped the floral spray in tangerine tango and then stamped the single flower again cutting it out to layer, adding a pearl to the center.  I forgot to take a pic of the inside but its layered with vanilla cardstock with the floral spray stamped in the corner.

Thanks for stopping by hope you enjoyed today's card.

Simply Stickers

I was so excited to see Joann's carrying a few Basic Grey items that I bought several things.  Now I know a lot of you have been using Basic Grey for a long time but it was basically non existent in the area I live.  Anyway I picked up the paper pack Shine On and some stickers that matched and made 2 quick and simple cards.

I love this large flower. I'm not sure how well it shows in the photo but there are many layers to this sticker along with lots of glitter and some bling ... all the things I like.  The little sentiment is a Verve stamp from the Happy Hellos set.  On to the next card.

Now I have mixed feelings about this card.  I love the little kites but I wish I would have only put the big one on and maybe stamped a small tree off to the right.  But when you put stickers down you better like where they are because I couldn't pull the small kite off without ruining the whole thing. C'est le vie.

Wow that's 3 whole posts this month.  I'm on a roll.  See ya next week.

A Casing We Will Go

So I told you how my mojo was lacking so I thought the best way jump start it was by casing come cards from a couple of my favorite blogs.  The first is from Susie Stamp Alot blog I bought the pennant punch from SU and haven't used it much so I was thrilled when I saw this card.  Here's my version.

The cloud image and bee are from Fiskars playful day set.  The paper for the grass is from Basic Grey shine on stack and I used the Fiskars grass punch with it.  The flowers are an ek success punch.

My next case is Julee's from Verve. A link to her blog can be found in my side bar Poetic Artistry.  Well if you read last weeks post you saw where I had to buy Father's Day cards so obviously I need to update my masculine stash and I loved her Surfer Dad card.    Here's my version...

The papers I used are all We R Memory Sunsplashed paper pack. The sets are from verve Relax and Happy Days.  I stamped the swirl with SU Pool Party ink.  Tied a little floss around the top and cut out the surf boards.  I think I'm going to make another version of this and tweek the design just a bit.

Before I close anyone else using blogger having trouble with the spellcheck?  It doesn't seem to work at all for me so what's the trick?

Another Month

Wow I can't believe another month has passed and yet I haven't posted a card ... *sigh*.  I will say I have been doing a lot of surfing on the web for card inspiration.  I seem to have lost my mojo just a bit since being away from my blog but I have been filling my days with reading.  Anyone read 50 Shades of Grey trilogy?  Can I just say WOW!  I don't think I have ever read 3 books as fast as that in my life but certain things did become really redundant, for those of you that read it I'm sure you'll know what I mean ... my inner goddess did a backflip and he gazed at me through hooded eyes and my breath hitched, just to name a few.  I think if I would have had to read much more of that I would have screamed LOL.  Though I did really like the underlying storyline.  The other book I read recommended to me by a friend is On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves.  I loved this book.  I read it in a day and a half.  I just couldn't put it down.  I highly recommend this book for a great summer read.

So we, I think, have finally finished with home improvement projects for this year.  I spent hours taking down border in our we could paint in there.  Its been 11 years since its been painted and was desperately in need of updating.  New bedding and blinds and it looks like a whole new room.

I've decided to challenge myself the month of July and try to do a card every other day.  I hope I can stick with it and have tons of projects to showcase for you on here so wish me luck.  I picked up a couple new stamps at Joann's the other day and really can't wait to ink them up though I will admit I still have some SU product from last year that hasn't seen ink... what is wrong with me?  I'm not usually like this I try to ink all new products that come into my home.  Is it stamping burn out?  I hope not considering all the money I have invested in this hobby.  I actually had to buy Father's Day cards this year.  Excuse me while I hang my head in shame lol.  I haven't really bought cards in so long I couldn't believe how expensive they've become.  While persuing the card isle at the local WalMart I about fell over when I picked up a pretty plain card that had a small 2 inch square image on the front a little scallop down the edge and some gold foil lettering and it was almost 6 bucks.  That's when I was thankful I made my own cards. Now I will in no way tally up the money I have spent on making cards so it probably averages out that each card I make would have to be sold at $10 to compensate for the overhead LOL but we'll just keep that to ourselves.

Well I've rambled on enough for today.  Thank you to those that our still with me.  See you soon.
