What are you doing New Year's ... New Year's Eve ..

Wow almost 2013. When I think back on 2012 some of it was such a blur. Time seems to go a lot faster with each passing year, not like when I was 15 and it seemed like it would be forever before 16 hit.  I'm watching my son grow up in a blink of an eye and before you know it he'll be from elementary school to high school and I'll be wondering where the years went.  I'm going to try to be more present in the year 2013. By that I mean not looking forward so much or back but staying in the moment of what's going on because literally in a blink of an eye those moments are gone and when you don't stay present in them you can't then even recall what was.

Today's card is actually a Christmas card I sent out to some friends but its the end of the season so why not one more.  Hope you like it.

The image is SU Happy Hour stamped in real red. The be merry is also from SU an older set but the name escapes me right now. The papers are DCWV and the punch used was SU. I cut the ovals with my cricut from the George cartridge.

Be safe if you're going our New Year's Eve.  See you in 2013 ....  HAPPY NEW YEAR

Merry Christmas Everyone

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! May your day be blessed with joy and those you love around you.

This is one of my fav images from SU greeting card kids so I had to make one of this year's Christmas cards with it. Papers are dcwv last year's Christmas stack. The image was colored with SU markers and the scalloped border is an ek success punch.

Hope your day is filled with lots of Merriment!

Away in a Manger

The card for today is the only religious based Christmas card I did this year. I had a hard time coming up with a plan for this image so I decided to emboss it and then remember why I hardly emboss images.

The image is from Stampendous and I picked it up at Joann/s. The image was stamped with versamark on night of navy cardstock then I used silver embossing powder. I only made 4 of these since I had a very hard time keeping extra embossing powder from the blue cardstock.  I hope you like the simple design.

Country Christmas

I have 2 cards for today and both have a country feel to them, or at least I think they do.

This one is Open Sleigh from SU. I love this set.  The papers are DCWV last year's Christmas stack. I used my cricut lacy labels for the frame for the sleigh image. The base is a kraft cardstock.

I got the idea for this card from a pinterest though I made some changes to it.  The deer is from SU. The sentiment is a dollar stamp from years ago and the papers are dcwv and SU.  The scalloped border is ek success from Michael's.

Thanks for stopping by.

Deck the Halls

I can not remember exactly where I saw this card originally but know that it is not my own design. I used the ornament punch from SU and paper from Cloud 9. The swirls and sentiment are from SU's Season of Joy set.  As of the time I am uploading this post (which is still Nov.) I am behind on my Christmas card making so I need to step it up or people will be getting store bought cards.  Are you done with your Christmas cards?

And the Stockings Were Hung ...

This card is cased from the SU catty and it was this card that made me want this set. So here's my version.

I layered the white base with crumb card stock SU. Then I stamped my stockings alternating with old olive and lucky limeade. I added a 1 inch piece of riding hood red below image and then cut a 1/2 inch piece of limeade with the SU border punch.  Merry Christmas is stamped in riding hood red and the button is from a fiskars sewing set I stamped on crumb and cut out.

Are your stockings hung by the chimney with care .... see you next week.

Thank You Friend

I know its Christmas season and everyone is getting in the holiday mode but I have one more Friendship card to share this week.  I am all about the Thank You cards. I think too many people go along now without really thanking the people in their lives for the little things they do. Everyone seems to be to busy. We all need to slow down and appreciate those around us, no matter what small part they play in your life.  On to today's card

Clean and simple... White card base. Doiley from the baking section that I adhered and then cut off the excess.  Sentiment from Hero Arts.  Ribbon from SU in riding hood red.  Rose stamp from SU's Stippled blossoms stamped in pretty in pink and cranberry. leaves in wasabi and limeade.

On to Christmas cards next week.
